“We slept in what had once been the gymnasium.” This is the opening sentence of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. I've long been fascinated with the opening sentences of novels, and - believe it or not - old-skool gym floors. It's the lines!
So, I've combined Atwood's opening line with the lines on a gym floor. Perfect. Obscure, but relevant reference.
