Print Details
I have placed the entire Raven poem on a single page without line breaks. From this page I have cut out letters that make up the last line of the poem: "And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted never more." Each letter stays in the same order as it was found on the page. No anagrams. You should be able to read through the page and work out what the cut out line is. No whole words are taken. This line is positioned in the bottom right corner of the page.
The second page uses the raven cut from the first. However, I have reversed the image. Within this page I have 're-reversed' the words 'Nevermore' and 'Lenore'.
Each bird represents a character from the poem. The 1st - main page - represents the narrator who descends into madness at the thought of seeing his Lenore nevermore. The 2nd page represents Lenore. She becomes transformed by death.
I have used a page number of 1845. This is the first publication date of The Raven.
You will also notice a line running horizontally between the 2 images. I have broken and staggered this line. Again, this represents the bond they once had. You could also view this as a lifeline, love line.
The colour I have chosen is a mix of greys and blacks designed to reflect the colourings of a raven.
