The Bell Jar "Deep Breath With Fig 195" | Double Paper Cut | Limited Edition 1 of 1

One of my favourites! This is page 195 torn carefully from Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar. I have hand cut a fig from the page, which is highly symbolic in Plath’s novel.

I have chosen Plath’s line “I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, Iam.” Each letter of this line has been handcut from the page and used to create the line. As with all of my work, each letter is used in the order it was found on the page. 

The dissected fig has been transferred to a second board together with the letters to create the double paper cut, or ‘mirror art work’.

Both works are mounted onto identical charcoal grey boards and come with a fixed champagne coloured border mount.

DIMENSIONS:

420mm x 297mm including mount
5mm in thickness which included the mount and the board that the artwork was created on.

You will receive both of the artworks pictured. Frames are not included.

No prints will be created and this is the only edition.
